2014 பொதுநலவாய விளையாட்டுக்கள் (20th Commonwealth Games in 2014) இசுகாட்லாந்தின் மிகப்பெரும் நகரமான கிளாஸ்கோவில் சூலை 23 முதல் ஆகத்து 3, 2014 வரை 12 நாட்கள் நடைபெறுகின்றன. முன்னதாக 1970இலும் 1986இலும் பொதுநலவாய விளையாட்டுப் போட்டிகள் எடின்பரோ நகரில் நடந்துள்ள போதிலும் இதுவே இசுக்காட்லாந்தில் நடைபெறவுள்ள மிகப்பெரும் பல்துறை விளையாட்டுப் போட்டிகள் ஆகும். இருப்பினும் 1997 இறகுப்பந்தாட்ட உலகப்போட்டிகள் உள்ளிட்டு, 2014 பொதுநலவாய விளையாட்டுப் போட்டிகளில் இடம்பெற உள்ள 17 விளையாட்டுக்களிலும் கடந்த பத்தாண்டுகளில் கிளாசுக்கோவும் இசுக்காட்லாந்தும் உலக, பொதுநலவாய, ஐரோப்பிய அல்லது பிரித்தானிய அளவில் போட்டிகளை நடத்தியுள்ளன.[3]

இலங்கைத் தலைநகர் கொழும்பில் நவம்பர் 9, 2007இல் கூடிய பொதுநலவாய விளையாட்டுக்கள் கூட்டமைப்பு வெற்றிபெற்ற நகர் பெயரை அறிவித்தது.

ஏற்று நடத்தும் நகரத் தேர்வு[தொகு]

இசுக்காட்டிலாந்தின் நகரங்களிடையே போட்டி நடத்தும் உரிமைக்கான கேட்புமனுக்கள் வரவேற்கப்பட்டன. குறுக்கப்பட்ட இரு நகரங்களில் 1970, 1986 ஆண்டுகளில் பொதுநலவாய விளையாட்டுக்களையும் 2000இல் பொதுநலவாய இளைஞர் விளையாட்டுக்களையும் ஏற்று நடத்திய எடின்பரோவை விட கிளாஸ்கோ தகுதியுடையதாக செப்டம்பர் 2004இல் கூடிய இசுக்காட்லாந்தின் பொதுநலவாய விளையாட்டுக்கள் சங்கம் செலவு- பயன் பகுப்பாய்வு செய்து தீர்மானித்தது. மாண்புமிகு அரசியின் ஒப்புதலுடனும் இசுக்காட்லாந்தின் நாடாளுமன்றத்தின் அனைத்துக் கட்சிகளின் ஒப்புதலுடனும் ஆகத்து 16, 2005இல் கிளாஸ்கோவிற்கு இந்த உரிமையை இசுக்காட்லாந்தின் முதல்வர் வழங்கினார்.[4][5]

இதனைத் தொடர்ந்து கிளாஸ்கோ பொதுநலவாய விளையாட்டுக்கள் கூட்டமைப்பிற்கு மெல்பேர்ணில் நடந்த 2006 பொதுநலவாய விளையாட்டுக்கள் போது தனது மனுவை அளித்தது. எதிராக நைஜீரியாவின் தலைநகர், அபுஜாவும் கனடாவின் ஆலிபாக்சும் போட்டியிட்டன.[6] நகராட்சி நிதி பெறுவது மறுக்கப்பட்டநிலையில் ஆலிபாக்சு தனது கேட்புமனுவை மீட்டுக்கொண்டது.[7]

2014 போட்டிகளை நடத்தும் நகரத்திற்கான இறுதித் தேர்வு கொழும்பு, இலங்கையில் கூடிய பொதுநலவாய விளையாட்டுக்கள் கூட்டமைப்பின் பொதுச்சபையில் எடுக்கப்பட்டது. இதில் அனைத்து 71 பொதுநலவாய உறுப்பினர் சங்கங்களும் கலந்து கொண்டன. இரகசிய வாக்கெடுப்பு நடத்தப்பட்டு போட்டியிட்ட இரு நகரங்களுக்கிடையே கிளாஸ்கோ தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டது.

பங்கேற்கும் நாடுகள்[தொகு]

2014ஆம் ஆண்டுக்கான பொதுநலவாய விளையாட்டுக்களில் 71 நாடுகள் பங்கேற்றன.[8] அக்டோபர் 7, 2013இல் காம்பியா, பொதுநலவாய நாடுகள் அமைப்பிலிருந்து விலகியதையடுத்து, இந்த விளையாட்டுக்களில் பங்கேற்கவில்லை என்பதை உறுதிப்படுத்தியது.[9]

துவக்க விழா[தொகு]

சூலை 23 அன்று பிரித்தானிய சீர்நேரம் 21:00 முதல் 23:40 வரை செல்டிக் பார்க் அரங்கத்தில் நடந்த துவக்க விழாவினை 40,000 பேர் கண்டனர். உலகம் முழுவதுமாக 100 கோடி பேர் தொலைக்காட்சி மூலம் கண்டனர்.[55] விளையாட்டுப் போட்டிகளை அரசி எலிசபெத் II துவக்கி வைத்தார். பொதுநலவாயத்தின் கூட்டு இலக்குகளையும் ஆசைகளையும் குறிப்பிட்ட அரசி பொதுநலவாய உறுப்பினர்களை ஒன்றிணைக்கும் பிணைப்புகளையும் குறிப்பிட்டார்.[56] துவக்கவிழாவில் ரோட் இசுட்டூவர்ட், நிக்கோலா பெனெடெட்டி, ஜூலி ஃபௌலிசு ஆகியோரின் கலைநிகழ்ச்சிகள் இடம் பெற்றன. அனைத்துலக விண்வெளி நிலையத்திலிருந்து செய்தியும் ஒளிபரப்பப்பட்டது. மலேசியா எயர்லைன்சு விமானம் 17 துர்நிகழ்விற்காக ஒரு நிமிட மவுனம் கடைபிடிக்கப்பட்டது.

பதக்கப் பட்டியலில் முதல் பத்து நாடுகள்[தொகு]

தரவரிசைப்படி முதல் பத்து இடங்களில் உள்ள நாடுகள் மட்டுமே பதக்கப் பட்டியலில் தரப்பட்டுள்ளன. மொத்தம் அனைத்து நாடுகளும் பெற்ற பதக்கங்களின் மொத்தத் தொகையைக் குறிக்கிறது.

பன்னாட்டு ஒலிம்பிக் குழு பதிப்பித்துள்ள பதக்க வரிசை மரபுப்படி இந்த அட்டவணையில் தரவரிசை தரப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதில் ஒரு நாட்டின் விளையாட்டு வீரர்கள் வென்ற தங்கப் பதக்கங்களின்படி தரவரிசைப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. அடுத்து வென்ற வெள்ளிப் பதக்கங்களும் வெங்கலப் பதக்கங்கள் அடுத்துமாக கருத்தில் கொள்ளப்பட்டுள்ளன. இதன் பின்னரும் இரு நாடுகள் சமநிலையில் இருந்தால் ஒரே தர வரிசை எண்ணுடன் அவர்களின் ப.ஒ.கு மூன்றெழுத்துச் சுருக்கத்தின் அகர வரிசைப்படி வரிசைப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளன.[58][59]
