பிரமோத் தாண்டன் என்பார் இந்தியக் கல்வியாளர் மற்றும் வடகிழக்கு மலை பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் (NEHU) முன்னாள் துணைவேந்தர் ஆவார்.

ஆரம்பகால வாழ்க்கை மற்றும் கல்வி[தொகு]

தாண்டன் அக்டோபர் 6, 1950 அன்று இலக்னோவில் பிறந்தார். லக்னோ பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் 1969இல் பி.எஸ்.சி பட்டமும், 1971இல் எம்.எஸ்.சி (தாவரவியல்) பட்டமும் பெற்றார்.[1] 1976ஆம் ஆண்டில் ஜோத்பூர் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் முனைவர் பட்டமும் பெற்றார். 1977ஆம் ஆண்டில், வடகிழக்கு மலை பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் விரிவுரையாளராக சேர்ந்தார். பின்னர் துணைவேந்தர் பதவிக்கு உயர்ந்தார்.

தாண்டனுக்கு இந்திய அரசு வெளிநாட்டில் படிப்பதற்கான தேசிய உதவித்தொகையினை வழங்கியது. இதன் மூலம் 1978–79 காலப்பகுதியில் அமெரிக்காவின் இர்வின் கலிபோர்னியா பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் மூலக்கூறு உயிரியல் மற்றும் உயிர்வேதியியல் துறையில் முனைவர் பட்டத்திற்கு பிந்தைய ஆய்வினை மேற்கொண்டார். பசுங்கனிக டி. என். ஏ. வின் அமைப்பு மற்றும் வெளிப்பாட்டை ஆய்வு செய்தார். 1989 முதல் 1995 வரை, தேசிய வேளாண்-உயிரியல் வளங்கள் நிறுவனம் மற்றும் ஜப்பானில் உள்ள பல பல்கலைக்கழகங்கள் அவரை ஆராய்ச்சிப் பணிகளுக்காக அழைத்தன. இதன் மூலம் தாவர பாதுகாப்பில் உயிரி தொழில்நுட்பம் நீண்டகால ஒத்துழைப்புக்கு வழிவகுத்தது.

தனிப்பட்ட வாழ்க்கை[தொகு]

தாண்டன் சில்லாங்கில் உள்ள வடகிழக்கு மலை பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் ஒட்டுண்ணி நிபுணரும் பேராசிரியருமானவீணாவினை மணந்தார், [2] ஷில்லாங். இவர்களுக்கு பிரதீக் என்ற மகன் உள்ளார். [3]

தொழில்[தொகு]

தாண்டன் 2005 முதல் 2010 வரை வடகிழக்கு மலை பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் துணைவேந்தராக இருந்தார்.[4] இவரது தலைமையின் கீழ், அந்த நேரத்தில் நாட்டில் இதுபோன்ற ஒன்பது பல்கலைக்கழகங்களில் ஒன்றான 'சிறந்த திறனுக்கான பல்கலைக்கழகம்' என்ற பெருமையை வடகிழக்கு மலை பல்கலைக்கழகம் பெற்றது.[1] தேசிய மதிப்பீடு மற்றும் தரச்சான்று நிறுவனத்தால் செய்யப்பட்ட பல்கலைக்கழக மறு மதிப்பீட்டில் 'A' தரத்தைப் பெற்றது . [5]

துணைவேந்தர் பதவிக்கு மேலதிகமாக, சில்லாங்கின் ராஜீவ்காந்தி இந்தியன் வணிக நிர்வாகவியல் நிறுவனத்தின் திட்ட இயக்குநராக பணியாற்றினார். [1]

தாண்டன் ஜனவரி 2009 இல் வடகிழக்கு மலை பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் 96வது இந்திய அறிவியல் காங்கிரஸை நடத்தினார். [1] [6]

தாண்டன் 2010-14ஆம் ஆண்டில் தேசிய ஆலோசனைக் குழுவின் உறுப்பினராக பணியாற்றினார். இவர் வடகிழக்கு பிராந்தியத்தின் வளர்ச்சியில் அதிகமாக பணியாற்றினார்.[7] [8] [9] [10] [11] [12] [13] [14] சிக்கலான வரலாறு மற்றும் புவிசார் அரசியல், சுற்றுச்சூழல் பாதிப்பு மற்றும் கரடுமுரடான நிலப்பரப்பு, தனிமை மற்றும் கிளர்ச்சிகள், மோசமான உள்கட்டமைப்பு மற்றும் பலவீனமான ஆளுகை மற்றும் வரையறுக்கப்பட்ட இணைப்பு உள்ளிட்ட பல சவால்களை எதிர்கொள்ளும் பகுதியாக வடகிழக்கு இந்தியப் பகுதிகள் உள்ளன.[15] [16]

தாண்டனின் ஆராய்ச்சி தாவர நுண்மப்பெருக்கம், இயற்கையில் மீண்டும் நிறுவுதல் மற்றும் இந்தியாவின் வடகிழக்கு பகுதியில் உள்ள அழியும் நிலையில் ஆபத்திற்குள்ளான தாவரங்களை மீட்டெடுத்தலாகும். [17] [18] [19] [20] இவரது சமீபத்திய ஆய்வுகள் (2010–2015) ரெட் (RET) தாவரங்களின் மரபணு அமைவு குறித்ததாகும். இதில் ஆபத்தான தாவரங்களின் மூலக்கூறு மற்றும் உயிரணு உயிரியல் அடிப்படையும் அடங்குகின்றது. இவை பாதுகாப்பு உத்திகளைத் திட்டமிடுவதில் பயனுள்ளதாக இருக்கும். தாண்டன் 170க்கும் மேற்பட்ட ஆய்வுக் கட்டுரைகளை ஆய்விதழ்களில் வெளியிட்டுள்ளார். பல்லுயிர் மற்றும் உயிரி தொழில்நுட்பம் குறித்த 3 புத்தகங்களைத் தொகுத்துள்ளார். [35] [36] [37]

தாண்டன் தேசிய அறிவியல் கழகம், இந்தியா மற்றும் இந்தியத் தாவரவியல் சங்கத்தின் உறுப்பினராக உள்ளார். மேலும் அமைச்சரவைக்கான அறிவியல் ஆலோசனைக் குழு, இந்திய அரசு, உள்ளிட்ட பல கல்வி அமைப்புகள் மற்றும் தேசிய பணிக்குழுக்களின் உறுப்பினராக பணியாற்றியுள்ளார். [38]
