ஜியார்ஜ் வால்ரிசு என்னும் கலைஞர் வடித்த லோகோ அடிசன் என்ற தேவரின் வெவெ எனப்படும் சின்னத்தை தாங்கிய மணிகள் பதித்த ஓர் பெரிய டிராபோ அல்லது கொடி

வூடூ அல்லது எயிட்டிய வூடோ (Haitian Vodou) , (ஒலிப்பு: /ˈvoʊduː/ சில நேரங்களில் வோடுங் அல்லது வூடோங்) கரிபிய நாடான எயிட்டியில் தோன்றிய ஓர் கலவை சமயமாகும். இது மேற்கு ஆபிரிக்க மக்களின் சமயக் கோட்பாடுகள், மேற்கிந்தியத் தீவுகளின் அரவாக் மக்களின் நம்பிக்கைகள் மற்றும் ரோமன் கத்தோலிக்கக் கூறுகள் ஆகியனவற்றை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்டது. 16வது நூற்றாண்டில் எயிட்டிக்குக் கொண்டுவரப்பட்ட ஆபிரிக்க அடிமைகளால் இந்த சமயம் தோன்றியது; தங்கள் மரபு சார்ந்த நம்பிக்கைகளை விட முடியாமலும் அதேநேரம் தங்கள் எசமானர்களின் சமய நம்பிக்கைகளை பின்பற்ற வேண்டி வந்ததாலும் இந்தச் சமயம் உருவானது. இந்தச் சமயத்தைப் பின்பற்றுபவர்கள் வூடோசோ என அழைக்கப்படுகின்றனர்.

இந்தச் சமயத்தின் முக்கியக் கூறுகள்:

• போன்ட்யே (Bondyè) எனப்படும் இறைவனின் கீழ் லோவா (Lwa அல்லது Loa) எனப்படும் தேவர்கள் உள்ளனர்
• இறைவன் மனிதர்களின் வாழ்வில் நேரடியாக தலையிடமாட்டார்
• எனவே அனைத்து வழிபாடுகளும் வேண்டுதல்களும் லோவாக்களுக்கே சேரும்.

வூடோவின் மற்ற சிறப்பங்கங்களாக இறந்தவரை வணங்குவதும் பில்லி சூனியத்திற்கு எதிராக பாதுகாப்பதும் உள்ளன.

எயிட்டிய வூடோ ஆப்பிரிக்க மக்களின் பிற சமய நம்பிக்கைகளான லூசியானா வூடூ, சன்தேரியா கூபாவின் அராரா, பிராசிலின் கன்டோம்பிள் மற்றும் உம்பந்தாவுடன் பலசடங்குகளை பொதுவாகக் கொண்டுள்ளது. எயிட்டிய வூடோவின் கோவில் ஹான்ஃபோர் என அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.

எயிட்டிய வூடோவில் லோவாக்களுக்கு நடத்தப்படும் சடங்குகளில், எயிட்டிய கிரியோலில் Sèvis Lwa ("லோவாவிற்கு சேவை"), பல மத்திய ஆப்பிரிக்க மற்றும் நைஜீரியா மக்களின் பழக்க வழக்கங்களை ஒத்துள்ளன. கொங்கோவின் தாக்கமும் பெருமளவில் உள்ளது அண்மையில்தான் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டது.

எயிட்டிய வூடோ எயிட்டியில் மட்டுமல்லாது டொமினிக்கன் குடியரசு, கிழக்கு கூபா, பகாமாசு தீவுகளின் சிலவற்றில், ஐக்கிய அமெரிக்கா மற்றும் எங்கெல்லாம் எயிட்டி மக்கள் புலம் பெயர்ந்தனரோ அங்கெல்லாம் கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது. இருப்பினும் ஐக்கிய அமெரிக்காவில் மேற்கு ஆபிரிக்காவிலிருந்து வந்த அடிமைகளால் பிறிதொரு வோடுங் என்ற சமயம் முன்னரே இருந்தது என்பது குறிக்கத்தக்கது.

அண்மையில் மேற்கு ஆபிரிக்க சடங்குகளுடன் மீளமைக்கப்பட்ட வூடோ சமயம் ஐக்கிய அமெரிக்காவில் வளர்முகம் கண்டு வருகிறது.

வூடு மக்கள் தொகை

பெனினின் மொத்த மக்கள் தொகையில் 17 சதவீத மக்கள் தொகையான 1.6 மில்லியன் மக்கள் இந்த வூடுவை பின்பற்றுகின்றனர். டோகோ நாட்டின் மக்கள் தொகையில் பாதிக்கும் மேற்பட்டவர்கள் இந்த வூடுவைப் பின்பற்றுகின்றனர். இவர்களின் தொகை இருபத்தி ஐந்து இலட்சமாகும். கானாவின் மொத்த மக்கள் தொகையில் 13 சதவீத மக்கள் தொகையான 20 மில்லியன் மக்களும் ஈவேயின் 38 சதவீத மக்களும் இந்த வூடுவை பின்பற்றுகின்றனர். மற்ற பல நாடுகளிலும் ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட அளவு மக்கள்தொகையினர் இந்த வூடுவைப் பின்பற்றுகின்றனர்.
