சைலோபிசு பெரோடெடி (Xylophis perroteti) பெரோடெட்சு மலைப் பாம்பு மற்றும் வரியிடப்பட்ட குறுகிய தலைப் பாம்பு என்று பொதுவாக அழைக்கப்படும் இந்த மரப்பாம்பு பரேடே குடும்பத்தினைச் சார்ந்தது. இந்த இனம் இந்தியாவின் மேற்குத் தொடர்ச்சி மலையில் மட்டுமே காணப்படுகிறது.
சொற்பிறப்பியல்[தொகு]
இந்த பாம்பின் சிற்றினப்பெயர் பெரோடெடி மற்றும் பொதுப்பெயர் பெரோடெட் பிரான்சு நாட்டினைச் சார்ந்த இயற்கை வரலாற்று அறிஞர் ஜார்ஜ் சாமுவேல் பெட்ரோட் நினைவாக இடப்பட்டன.[3]
புவியியல் வரம்பு[தொகு]
சை. பெரோடெடி இந்திய மாநிலங்களான கேரளா மற்றும் தமிழ்நாட்டிலுள்ள மேற்குத் தொடர்ச்சி மலைகளில் காணப்படுகிறது.[1]
வாழ்விடம்[தொகு]
சை. பெரோடெடியின் இயற்கையான வாழ்விடம் 1,500–2,380 m (4,920–7,810 அடி) உயரத்தில் காணப்படும் மலைக் காடுகளாகும்.[1]
