ஜிட் ஒரு கட்டற்ற பதிப்புக் கட்டுப்பாடு (version control) மென்பொருள். இது பரவிலான பதிப்புக் கட்டுப்பாட்டு (Distributed Version Control System - DVCS) ஒருங்கியத்தைக் கொண்டது. வேகமாக செயற்படுவதை நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டது. ஒவ்வொரு வேலை அடைவும் முழுமையான தகவல்களைக் கொண்டது.

- git clone fromdirectory todirectory - ஏற்கனவே உள்ள ஒரு ஜிட் அடைவில் இருந்து ஒரு கொப்பி அடைவை உருவாக்க
- git init - நீங்கள் கட்டுப்படாடு செய்ய வேண்டிய அடைவில் நின்று, அந்த அடைவை ஒரு git repository ஆக ஆக்க
- git add கோப்புப்பெயர் - புதிய கோப்புக்களை சேர்க்க
- git commit -m "this is the comment" - தற்போதையை அடைவு நிலைமையை உறுதி செய்ய
- git branch - என்ன என்ன கிளைகள் உள்ளன என்று பார்
- git checkout கிளைப்பெயர் - ஒரு கிளையை தெரிந்து கொள்
- git merge கிளைப்பெயர் - ஒரு கிளையை இன்னொரு கிளையோடு அல்லது மூலத்தோடு இணை
