அசோக் கேப்டன்
அசோக் கேப்டன் (Ashok Captain; பிறப்பு: 4 செப்டம்பர் 1960) இந்திய விலங்கியலாளர் ஆவார். இவர் ஈரிடவாழ்விகள் குறித்த ஆய்வுகளில் ஈடுபட்டவர். இந்தியப் பாம்புகள் குறித்த புத்தகங்களையும் ஆவணங்களையும் எழுதியுள்ளார். இவர் 1977 முதல் 1989[1] வரை சைக்கிள் பந்தைய போட்டியாளராகவும் இருந்தார். இந்தியாவில் மட்டுமே காணப்படுகிற மர பாம்பிற்கும் (சைலோபிசு கேப்டனி- Xylophis captaini)[2] வெண்கல மர பாம்பிற்கும் (டென்ட்ரெலாபிசு அசோகி, Dendrelaphis ashoki)[3] இவருடைய பெயர் இடப்பட்டுள்ளது.
