போனி (Bohni) என்பது இந்தியா மற்றும் பாக்கித்தானில் பின்பற்றப்படும் ஒரு சமூக மற்றும் வணிகப் பழக்கம் ஆகும், ஒரு நாளின் முதல் விற்பனை அல்லது பிற விற்பனை காலத்தின் முதல் விற்பனை எஞ்சிய பரிவர்த்தனைகளுக்கான நற்பேறை நிறுவுகிறது என்ற நம்பிக்கையின் அடிப்படையில் அமைந்துள்ளது.[1] [2] நடைமுறை அடிப்படையில் இதன் பொருள் என்னவென்றால், விற்பனையாளர்களின் முதல் விற்பனையானது ரொக்கமாக மட்டுமே நடப்பதை உறுதி செய்ய முயல்கிறது, மேலும் எந்த விதமான தள்ளுபடியும் இல்லாமல் முழு விலையில் விற்பனை செய்யவும் இந்நம்பிக்கை உதவுகிறது. போனி தொடர்புடைய சமூக நெறிமுறை பிராந்தியத்தின் அடிப்படையில் மாறுபடுகிறது. [2] விலை அபரிமிதமாக இல்லாவிட்டால், வாடிக்கையாளர்கள் விற்பனையாளருடன் போனி பரிவர்த்தனையில் ஈடுபட்டால் தாராளமாக இருப்பது நல்ல நடத்தையாகக் கருதப்படுகிறது. வாங்குபவர் நம்பகமானவராக இருந்தால், விற்பனையாளர் சில சமயங்களில் வாங்குபவர் தாராள மனப்பான்மையைக் காட்டுவார் என்ற எதிர்பார்ப்புடன், இரண்டையும் கட்டுப்படுத்தும் விலையைக் கூற அனுமதிக்கிறார். வழக்கத்தில் மாறுபாடுகள்[தொகு]

விற்பனையாளர்கள் தினசரி போனி நடைமுறையைக் கொண்டிருந்தாலும், ஒரு நாட்காட்டி ஆண்டின் தொடக்கத்திலும் அல்லது ஒரு நிறுவனத்தைத் தொடங்கும் போதும் நிகழும் விற்பனைக்கும் பொருந்தும்.. பெரும்பாலும், புதிதாகத் தொடங்கப்பட்ட வணிகத்திற்கு, விற்பனையாளரின் குடும்பத்தினர் அல்லது நண்பர்கள் புதிய வணிகத்திற்கான நற்பேறை பாதுகாக்கும் முயற்சியில் தாங்களே முதல் பரிவர்த்தனையை நிகழ்த்துவார்கள். தனிப்பட்ட நம்பிக்கைகளைப் பொறுத்து, சில விற்பனையாளர்கள் பெரிய அளவிலான போனி விற்பனையைப் பெறும் வரை சிறிய பரிவர்த்தனைகளை மேற்கொள்ளாமல் தவிர்த்து விடுவதும் உண்டு. மற்றவர்கள் போனி விற்பனையை விரைவில் முடிக்க முயற்சி செய்து கிடைக்கும் சிறிய அளவிலான வியாபாரத்தையும் மேற்கொள்கிறார்கள். சில பிராந்தியங்களில், முதல் வாடிக்கையாளரை விற்பனை முடிக்காமல் வெளியேற அனுமதிப்பது அசுபமாக கருதப்படுகிறது. இதைத் தடுக்க, விற்பனையாளருடன் ஈடுபடும் முதல் சாத்தியமான வாங்குபவரை கடையில் இருக்கை அளித்து, ஒரு கோப்பை தேநீர் வழங்கி அல்லது இலவசமாக விற்பனை செய்வது போன்ற சிறப்பு நடைமுறைகளும் வழங்கப்படுவதுண்டு. வட இந்தியா மற்றும் பாக்கித்தானில் உள்ள சில பகுதிகள் மற்றும் சமூகங்கள் போனி பரிவர்த்தனையில் செய்யப்படும் பணம் எவ்வாறு கையாளப்பபடுகிறது என்பதில் குறிப்பிட்ட நடைமுறைகளை உருவாக்கியுள்ளன. சில நேரங்களில் போனி பணம் மீது துப்பப்படுகிறது, நாசர் எனப்படும் தீய கண் பார்வையை விரட்டுவதாக நம்பப்படுகிறது.
