இனுவிட்டு மக்கள் (ஆங்கிலத்தில் எசுக்கிமோ என்றும் அழைக்கப்பட்டனர்), ஆர்க்டிக்கு வடமுனைப்பகுதியில் வாழும், பண்பாட்டளவில் மிக நெருக்கமான, பல தொல்குடி மக்களைக் குறிக்கும். இவர்கள் கனடா, தென்மார்க்கு, கிரீன்லாந்து, உருசியா, சைபீரியா, அமெரிக்காவின் அலாசுக்கா, கனடாவின் நுனாவுட்டு மாநிலம், கனடாவின் வடமேற்கு ஆட்சிப்பகுதி (கனடா), கனடாவின் நியூபின்லாந்து லாபிரடோர் பகுதியில் உள்ள நுனாட்சியாவுட்டு, நுனாட்டுகாவுட்டு, கனடாவின் குபெக்கு மாநிலத்தின் வடபகுதியில் உள்ள நுனாவிக்கு ஆகிய இடங்களில் வாழ்கின்றனர்.[2] இனுவிட்டு (Inuit) என்றால் "மக்கள்" என்று அவர்கள் மொழியாகிய இனுக்டிடூட்டு (Inuktitut) மொழியில் பொருள். இனுக்கு (Inuk) என்பது இனுவிட்டு மக்களைச் சேர்ந்த ஒரு மாந்தரையும், இனுவிட்டு என்பது அம்மக்களைக் குறிக்கும் அச்சொல்லின் பன்மை வடிவம் என்றும் கூறுவர். இனுவிட்டு மக்களின் மொழி எசுக்கிமோ-அலூவிட்டு மொழிகள் குடும்பத்தைச் சேர்ந்த மொழியாகும்.[3].
