There are two optional parameters:
- Description field
- The optional description field is used to indicate what part of the article is about the upcoming film. To indicate that the entire article is dedicated to the future film, use
{{future film|கட்டுரை}}
- at the top of the article. If the description of the upcoming film is within a more general article, use
{{future film|பகுதி}}
- at the top of the section that describes the future film.
- Date parameter
- The date parameter is used to indicate when the template was added to the article. An example of its usage is
{{future film|கட்டுரை|date=ஏப்பிரல் 2024}}
