ஹண்டிங்டன் விலங்கு வன்கொடுமையை நிறுத்து (Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty, SHAC) என்பது ஐரோப்பாவின் மிகப்பெரிய ஒப்பந்த விலங்குப் பரிசோதனை ஆய்வகமான ஹண்டிங்டன் உயிர் அறிவியல் நிறுவனத்தை மூடுவதற்கான ஒரு பன்னாட்டு விலங்குரிமை பிரச்சார அமைப்பாகும். எலிகள் முதல் முதனிகள் வரையிலாக பல்வேறு விலங்கினங்களின் மீதும் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் சுமார் 75,000 விலங்குகளில் மருத்துவ மற்றும் பலதரப்பட்ட பொருட்களை HLS ஆய்வகம் பரிசோதித்தது.[1][2][3][4] இது 1989 முதல் விலங்குரிமை ஆர்வலர்கள், நிருபர்கள் உள்ளிட்டோரது செயற்பாடுகளால் பெரிய அளவில் கசியவிடப்பட்டும் இரகசிய விசாரணைகளுக்கு உட்படுத்தப்பட்டும் வந்திருந்தது.[5]
1997-ம் ஆண்டு HLS ஆய்வக ஊழியர்கள் தங்கள் பராமரிப்பில் இருந்த பீகல் வகை நாய்களை உலுக்குவதையும், குத்துவதையும், அவற்றிடம் கத்துவதையும் பீட்டா அமைப்பினர் அவ்வாய்வகத்திற்குள்ளே ரகசியமாக படமெடுத்து வெளியிட்டதாகக் கூறப்படுகிறது. இதனைத் தொடர்ந்து மூன்று பிரித்தானிய விலங்குரிமை ஆர்வலர்களான கிரெக் அவேரி, ஹீதர் ஜேம்ஸ், மற்றும் நடாஷா டெல்மேக்னே ஆகியோரால் ஸ்டாப் ஹண்டிங்டன் அனிமல் க்ரூயல்டி அமைப்பு தொடங்கப்பட்டது.[6] இந்தக் காணொளிகள் ஐக்கிய இராச்சியத்தில் சேனல் 4 என்ற தொலைக்காட்சி நிறுவனத்தால் ஒளிபரப்பப்பட, அக்காட்சிகளில் இருந்த HLS ஆய்வக ஊழியர்கள் பணிநீக்கம் செய்யப்பட்டு அவர்கள் மீது வழக்கு தொடரப்பட்டது. மேலும் விலங்குப் பரிசோதனைகளைச் செய்வதற்கான HLS ஆய்வகத்தின் உரிமம் ஆறு மாதங்களுக்கு ரத்து செய்யப்பட்டது. HLS ஆய்வகம் சட்ட நடவடிக்கை எடுப்பதாக பீட்டா நிறுவனத்தை அச்சுறுத்தியதைத் தொடர்ந்து பீட்டா தனது போராட்டங்களை நிறுத்தியது. இதனைத் தொடர்ந்து ஸ்டாப் ஹண்டிங்டன் அனிமல் க்ரூயல்டி அமைப்பு ஒரு தலைமையற்ற அமைப்பாக உருவெடுத்தது.[7]
