தமிழ்நாட்டில் மிக அதிக மக்கள் தொகை கொண்ட நகரங்களின் பட்டியல்

தமிழ்நாட்டில் மிக அதிக மக்கள் தொகை கொண்ட நகரங்களின் பட்டியல் (List of most populous towns in Tamil Nadu) என்ற இந்த அட்டவணையியில், இந்தியாவின் ஏழாவது பெரிய மாநிலமான தமிழ் நாட்டில் அதிக மக்கள் தொகை கொண்ட நகரங்கள் பட்டியலிடப்பட்டுள்ளன. 2014 ஆம் ஆண்டின் கணக்கெடுப்பின்படி இம்மாநிலத்தில் உள்ள 35 மாவட்டங்களில் 21 மாநகராட்சிகளும் 146 நகராட்சிகளும் அடங்கியுள்ளன[1][2]. 2011 மக்கள் தொகை கணக்கெடுப்பின் படி தமிழக நகரங்களை ஒப்பிடுகையில் சென்னை மாவட்டம் அதிக மக்கள்தொகை கொண்ட நகரமாக விளங்குகிறது. சென்னையைத் தொடர்ந்து முறையே கோயம்புத்தூர், மதுரை[3][4], திருச்சிராப்பள்ளி மற்றும் சேலம் முதலிய நகரங்கள் மிக அதிக மக்கள் தொகை கொண்ட நகரங்களாக இருந்தன. 2013 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் 10 அன்று சட்டப்பேரவையில், தஞ்சாவூர் மற்றும் திண்டுக்கல் நகராட்சிகள் மாநகராட்சிகளாக அறிவிக்கப்பட்டன[5][6]
