The வடசென்னை அனல்மின் நிலையம் சென்னையில் இருந்து 25 கிலோமீட்டர்கள் (16 mi) தொலைவில் அமைந்துள்ள மின் நிலையம் ஆகும்.[1]தமிழ்நாட்டில் அமைந்துள்ள முக்கிய மின் நிலையங்களில் ஒன்றான இதன் மொத்த உற்பத்தி திறன் 1,830 MW (2,450,000 hp) ஆகும்.[2][3][4]
வரலாறு
வடசென்னை அனல்மின் நிலையம் 1994ஆம் ஆண்டு திருவள்ளூர் மாவட்டத்தில் நிறுவப்பட்டது. எண்ணூர் அனல்மின் நிலையத்திற்கு நிலக்கரி இறக்குமதிக்கு பயன்பட்ட எண்ணூர் துறைமுகம் அருகில் இருந்ததே இம்மின்னிலையம் இங்கு அமைக்கபட முக்கிய காரணம் ஆகும். It has won various awards for productivity and reduction in auxiliary consumption.[2][5] The coal necessary for the power station arrives from the எண்ணூர் துறைமுகம்.[6] Recently a stator was brought to the station via the sea.[7] In recent years due to shortage of coal in the state, coal is being imported to function the power plant.[8]
