கெப்லர் 186எப் (Kepler-186f) என்பது புவியிலிருந்து 492 ஒளியாண்டுகள் தொலைவில்,[1] செங்குறுமீன் கெப்லர் 186 சுழற்சிப்பாதையில் அமைந்துள்ள ஓர் புறக்கோள் ஆகும்.[3][4][5] இன்னொரு விண்மீனின் உயிரினங்களின் வாழ்தகமைப் பிரதேசத்தில் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்ட, புவியின் ஆரத்திற்கு நெருங்கிய அளவுடைய முதலாவது கோளாக இது உள்ளது. நாசாவின் கெப்லர் விண்கலம் நகர்தல் முறை மூலம் விண்மீனுக்கு நெருக்கமாக மேலும் நான்கு கோள்களுடன் (புவியைவிடப் பெரியவை) இதனைக் கண்டுபிடித்தது.[4] இதனுடைய சமிக்கையை கண்டுபிடிக்க மூன்று வருட தரவுப் பகுப்பாய்வு தேவைப்பட்டது.[6] 19 மார்ச்சு 2014 அன்று இடம்பெற்ற மாநாட்டில் இது பற்றிய தகவல்கள் வெளியிடப்பட்டன.[7] சில விபரங்கள் அப்போதே ஊடகங்களுக்கு வழங்கப்பட்டன.[8][9] 17 ஏப்பிரல் 2014 அன்று முழு பகிரங்க அறிவிப்பு வெளியானது.[2]
