ஆச்சார்யா சந்தனா (Acharya Chandana, இயற்பெயர்: சகுந்தலா; 26 சனவரி 1937 – 22 ஏப்ரல் 2026) என்பவர் அமர்முனி சம்பிரதாயத்தைச் சேர்ந்த இந்திய சைனத் துறவியாவார். இவரது பக்தர்களால் தாய் மகாராஜ் என்று அழைக்கப்பட்டார். சைன மரபில் ஆச்சார்யா பட்டம் பெற்ற முதல் பெண் சாத்வியாகவும், பத்மசிறீ விருது பெற்ற முதல் சைனத் துறவிகளில் ஒருவராகவும் அறியப்படுகிறார்.[1][2]
சைன சமுதாயத்தில் சேவா என்ற கருத்தைப் பரவலாக்கியதற்கும், சமூகச் சேவைகளில் ஆழ்ந்த ஈடுபாட்டினாலும் இவர் பரவலாக அறியப்படுகிறார். இவர், ராஜ்கிர் நகரை மையமாகக் கொண்டு செயல்படும், இலாப நோக்கமற்ற மற்றும் அரசு சாரா அமைப்பான வீராயதன் அமைப்பின் நிறுவனர் ஆவார். இந்த அமைப்பின் மையங்கள் பத்துக்கும் மேற்பட்ட நாடுகளில் செயல்பட்டு வருகின்றன.[3][4]
ஆரம்பகால வாழ்க்கை

1937ஆம் ஆண்டு சனவரி 26 அன்று, அப்போதைய பம்பாய் மாகாணம் புனே மாவட்டத்திலுள்ள சாசுகமன் கிராமத்தில் கட்டாரியா குடும்பத்தில் சகுந்தலாவாக சந்தனா பிறந்தார். இவரது தாயார் பிரேம்குன்வர் கட்டாரியா; தந்தையார் மாணிக்சந்த் கட்டாரியா ஆவார். இவர் மூன்றாம் வகுப்பு வரை மட்டுமே முறையான கல்வி கற்றார்.[5]
சிறு வயதிலிருந்தே தேவைப்படுவோருக்கு உதவவும், மனிதநேயச் சேவையில் ஈடுபடவும் இவர் விருப்பம் கொண்டிருந்தார்.[6]
துறவற வாழ்க்கை
[தொகு]சகுந்தலாவின் தாய்வழித் தாத்தா, சுமதி குன்வரிடம் இவரை சாத்வியாகத் துறவறத் தீட்சை பெறுமாறு ஊக்குவித்தார். பதினான்கு வயதில் இவர் சைன தீட்சை பெற்று சாத்வி சந்தனா என்ற பெயரைப் பெற்றார்.[4]
சைனக் கோட்பாடுகள், வாழ்க்கையின் பொருள் மற்றும் நோக்கம், பிற சமயங்கள் ஆகியவற்றைப் படிப்பதற்காக இவர் 12 ஆண்டுகள் மௌன விரதம் மேற்கொண்டார். பின்னர் மும்பையில் உள்ள பாரதிய வித்யா பவனில் இருந்து தர்ஷன் ஆச்சார்யா பட்டம், பிரயாகில் இருந்து சாகித்ய ரத்னா பட்டம், பாதர்டி தர்மப் பரீட்சை வாரியத்திலிருந்து முதுகலைப் பட்டம் பெற்றார். மேலும், பனாரஸ் இந்துப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் நவ்ய-நியாயம், வியாகரணம் ஆகிய துறைகளில் சாஸ்திரி பட்டமும் பெற்றார்.[4][7]
