குமுகாயம் என்றால் சமூகம். தற்போது வலைப்பதிவாளர்களால் பரவலாக பாவிக்கப்பட்டு வருகின்றது. இராம்.கி அவர்கள் குமுகாயம் என்ற சொல் ஏன் சமூகம் என்ற சொல்லை விட பொருத்தமானது என்பதற்க்கு நீண்ட இலக்கண விளக்கம் தந்துள்ளார். தற்போது சுட்டி கைவசம் இல்லை. ஆனால், சமூகம் என்று மாற்றுவதில் ஆட்சோபனை இல்லை. பரிந்துரைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கும் அனேக சொற்களை ஏற்கின்றேன். ஆனால், சில தவறானதாக எனக்கு தெரிகின்றது. பின்னர் இதை பற்றி விளக்குகின்றேன்.

Thanks for the explanation Natkeeran. We can use all forms of words for the same meaning that way we can preserve the rich vocabulary of Tamil. Mayooranathan is also of the view that we should not homogenise tamil vocabulary and that wikipedia should reflect tamil words used in all parts of the world. The best thing would be to add a entry in wiktionary about kumukaayam and provide the link u r mentioning there.
