பிரதிபா ராய் (Pratibha Ray) இவர் ஒரு இந்திய கல்வியாளர் மற்றும் எழுத்தாளர் ஆவார். 1943 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 21 ஆம் தேதியன்று, ஒடிசா மாநிலத்திலுள்ள ஜகத்சிங்பூர், பாலிக்குடா பகுதியின் ஒரு தொலைதூர கிராமத்தில் பிறந்தார்.[2] 1991இல் மூர்த்தி தேவி விருது வென்ற முதல் பெண்மணி ஆவார்.[3] இவர் சமகால இந்தியாவில் ஒரு புகழ்பெற்ற எழுத்தாளர் ஆவார். இவர் தனது தாய்மொழியான ஒடிய மொழியில் நாவல்கள் மற்றும் சிறுகதைகள் எழுதுகிறார். இவரது முதல் நாவல் "பர்ஷ பாஸ்ந்தா பிஷாகா" (1974) என்பது சிறந்த விற்பனையான புத்தகமாகும்[4]

இவர் மேற்கொண்ட தேடலானது சமத்துவம், அன்பு, சமாதானம் மற்றும் ஒருங்கிணைப்பு ஆகியவற்றின் அடிப்படையில் அமைந்தது. இவர் எழுதிய புத்தகத்தின் முதல் பதிப்பு இவருடைய ஒன்பது வயதில் வெளிவந்தது. வகுப்பு, ஜாதி, மதம் அல்லது பாலியல் பாகுபாடு இல்லாமல் சமத்துவம் அடிப்படையில் ஒரு சமூக ஒழுங்கிற்கு அவர் எழுதிய போது, சில விமர்சகர்கள் அவரை ஒரு கம்யூனிஸ்ட் என முத்திரை குத்தினர், மற்றும் சிலர் பெண்ணியவாதி என்று பெயரிட்டனர்.[5] ஆனால், "நான் ஒரு மனிதாபிமானியாக இருக்கிறேன், சமூகத்தின் ஆரோக்கியமான செயல்பாட்டிற்காக ஆண்கள் மற்றும் பெண்கள் வித்தியாசமாக உருவாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர், பெண்கள் சிறப்பு அம்சங்களுடன் மேலும் வளர வேண்டும்." என்று இவர் கூறுகிறார்.

அவரது திருமணத்திற்குப் பின்னரும் கூட அவரது எழுத்து வாழ்க்கையைத் தொடர்ந்தார். ஒடிசாவின் ஜகத்சிங்பூரின் சிறந்த பொறியாளரான தனது கணவர் மற்றும் மூன்று குழந்தைகளுடன் வாழ்ந்து வருகிறார். அவர் கல்வியில் முதுகலை பட்டம் மற்றும் கல்வியியலில் முனைவர் பட்டம் பெற்றுள்ளார். இவர் பழங்குடி மற்றும் குரோமினாலஜி ஆஃப் போண்டோ ஹைலேண்டர் என்ற ஒடிசாவின் பழங்குடியினரைப் பற்றிய ஆராய்ச்சி மேற்கொண்டுள்ளார்.[6][7][8]

அவர் தனது வாழ்க்கையை ஒரு பள்ளி ஆசிரியராகத் தொடங்கினார், பின்னர் அவர் ஒன்பது ஆண்டுகளில் ஒடிசாவில் பல்வேறு அரசுக் கல்லூரிகளில் கற்பித்தல் பணியை மேற்கொண்டார். இவர் முனைவர் பட்டத்திற்கான ஆய்வு வழிகாட்டியாக உள்ளார் மற்றும் பல ஆராய்ச்சி கட்டுரைகளை வெளியிட்டுள்ளார். ஒடிசா மாநில அரசுப்பணியாளர் ஆனையத்தின் உறுப்பினராக பணியாற்றிய பின்னர் விருப்ப ஓய்வுபெற்றார்,[9]

" யஜ்னசெனி" என்ற புதினத்தை சுமன் போக்ரெல் என்பவர் நேபாளி மொழியில் தனி நாடகமாகக் நடத்திக் காட்டியுள்ளார்.
