சில்வனஸ் கிரிஸ்வோல்டு மார்லி (ஜூன் 7, 1883 - செப்டம்பர் 2, 1948) ஒரு அமெரிக்க தொல்பொருள் ஆராய்ச்சியாளர், கல்வெட்டு ஆய்வாளர் ஆவார். இவர் முந்தைய 20 ஆம் நூற்றாண்டின் முந்தைய கொலம்பிய மாயா நாகரிகத்தைப் பற்றிய ஆராய்ச்சிக்கு குறிப்பிடத்தக்க வகையில் தனது பங்களிப்பை ஆற்றியுள்ளார். மார்லி, கார்னிகி அமைப்பின் சார்பாக, மாயா பகுதியில் விரிவான அகழ்வாராய்ச்சி செய்தார். மேலும் மாயா பகுதியில் உள்ள புனித எழுத்துமுறை பற்றிய ஆய்வுக் கட்டுரைகளை தொகுத்து வெளியிட்டார். மாயாவை பற்றிய பிரபலமான செய்திகளை மக்களுக்காக எழுதினார்.

இவர் காலத்தில் வாழ்ந்தவர்களுக்கு,மார்லி மத்திய அமெரிக்காவின் முன்னணி தொல்பொருள் ஆராய்ச்சியாளராக விளங்கினார். சமீபத்தில் அவருடைய கோட்பாடுகளும், படைப்புகளும் பல மாற்றங்களுக்கு உட்பட்டிருந்தாலும், அவருடைய படைப்பான நாள்காட்டி எழுத்துப் பொறிப்பு இப்பொழுதும் மேற்கோள் காட்டப்படுகின்றன. கார்கினி அமைப்பால் இவர் பல்வேறு திட்டங்களுக்கு இயக்குநராக நியமிக்கப்பட்ட போது,இவர் மேற்பார்வையில் வேலை செய்த மற்றும் இவரால் ஊக்குவிக்கப்பட்ட பலபேர் பின்னாளில் புகழ்பெற்று திகழ்ந்தனர்.மாயா பகுதியைப்பற்றிய அவருடைய ஈடுபாடும்,ஆர்வமும்,அவருடைய ஆராய்ச்சிக்கு ஊக்க ஆதரவைப் பெற்றுத் தந்தது.மார்லி,முதல் உலகப்போரின்போது அமெரிக்காவிற்காக இறந்தபின்னரே வெளிச்சத்திற்கு வந்தது.மர்லியின்,மெக்ஸிகோ மற்றும் மத்தியாஅமெரிக்காவில் நடத்தப்பெற்ற அகழ்வாராய்ச்சி,ஜெர்மன் நாட்டின் நடவடிக்கைகள் மற்றும் அமெரிக்காவிற்கு எதிரான நடவடிக்கைகளைப் பற்றி துப்பறிய அமொிக்காவின் கப்பற்படை புலனாய்வுத் துறைக்கு உதவியாக இருக்கிறது.
