இந்திய அலுவல் மொழி
இந்தியக் குடியரசுக்கு அலுவல் மொழிகள் உண்டு. “தேசிய மொழி” கிடையாது. இந்திய அரசியலமைப்புச் சட்டமும், பிற சட்டங்களும் தேசிய மொழி என்று ஒன்றை வரையறுக்க வில்லை. அலுவல் மொழிகள் மட்டுமே வரையறுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.[1] இந்திய அளவில் இந்தி அலுவல் மொழியாகவும், ஆங்கிலம் கூடுதல் அலுவல் மொழியாகவும் உள்ளன. இந்தியாவின் ஒவ்வொரு மாநிலமும் தத்தமது அலுவல் மொழிகளை தேர்ந்தெடுக்கும் உரிமை பெற்றுள்ளன. இந்திய அரசியலமைப்பின் எட்டாவது அட்டவணையில் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ள மொழிகள் சில நேரங்களில் தவறுதலாக “தேசிய மொழிகள்” என்றும் வழங்கப்படுகின்றன.[2][2][3][4]
