The parameter: |type = can be added to the template. Setting include:

• "book" which will place the article into Category:Books by Alan Moore,
• "comic" which will place the article into Category:Comics by Alan Moore, and
• "work" which will place the article into Category:Works by Alan Moore,

Please note that:

• The sorting will be by the pagename or the default set with {{DEFAULTSORT}}.
• With normal placement of the navigation template, the category will precede "manually" added categories. Care should be taken.
