இராமாபுரம் (ஆங்கில மொழி: Ramapuram) தமிழ்நாட்டின் தலைநகரான சென்னை மாவட்டத்தின் தென்மேற்கில் அமைந்த பகுதியாகும். மவுண்ட் - பூந்தமல்லி சாலையில் அமைந்த இராமாபுரம் கிண்டியிலிருந்து 3 கி.மீ. தொலைவில் உள்ளது. இது சென்னை மாவட்டம், மதுரவாயல் வட்டதிற்குட்பட்டது. கடல் மட்டத்திலிருந்து சுமார் 42 மீட்டர் உயரத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள இராமாபுரம் பகுதியின் புவியியல் ஆள்கூறுகள், 13°00′38″N 80°11′35″E / 13.010600°N 80.193180°E ஆகும்.
புவியியல்[தொகு]
Ramapuram is part of ward number 155 of the Greater Chennai Corporation. The former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M. G. Ramachandran's residence was in Ramapuram. The place known as "MGR Gardens" now houses the Dr. M. G. R. Home and Higher Secondary School for the Speech and Hearing Impaired.[1]
Ramapuram is also famous for Arasamaram Temple which was nearly 100 years old and Lakshmi Narasimha Perumal Temple (Lakshmi Narasimhan idol is approximately 2000 years old). The neighbourhood is surrounded by big hospitals like MIOT, SRM & Large organizations like L&T Infotech, IBHYA, and DLF IT PARK are also located in Ramapuram. Educational institutes include SRM University and SRM Easwari Engineering college, which is also located in the SRM campus and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai.

Ramapuram has an average literacy rate of 71%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 82%, and female literacy is 61%. In Ramapuram, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.

தமிழக முன்னாள் முதல்வர் எம். ஜி. இராமச்சந்திரன் அவர்கள் வாழ்ந்த வீடு ராமபுரம் பகுதியில் உள்ளது. எம்ஜிஆரின் உயிலின்படி அவரது வீடு மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகளுக்கான பள்ளியாக மாற்றப்பட்டது[3]. தற்பொழுது எம். ஜி. ஆர் கார்டன் (தோட்டம் ) என வழங்கப்படுகிறது. ராமபுரம் 1000 வருட பழைமையான லட்சுமி நரசிம்மா பெருமாள் கோவிலுக்கும், 100 வருட பழைமையான அரசமர கோவிலுக்கும் பெருமை பெற்றது.[சான்று தேவை]
