இலைக்காடி உயிரியல் தொடர்பான கருத்துகளைக் கொண்ட கட்டுரைகளை மேம்படுத்தவும், புதிய கட்டுரைகள் இயற்றுவதையும் நோக்கமாக உடைய விக்கித் திட்டம் உயிரியல் என்னும் திட்டத்துடன் தொடர்புடையது ஆகும். இத் திட்டத்தில் நீங்களும் பங்குபெற விரும்பினால், திட்டப் பக்கத்துக்குச் செல்லவும். செய்யவேண்டிய பணிகள் பற்றிய பட்டியலையும் அங்கே காணலாம்.

Please try not to use "custom" scientific terminology. This will not be useful for students or lay people.

if we shirked at translating scientific terminology where no translation exists before, what is the point in having a tamil wikipedia? It is pointless to translate millions of scientific names for species or chemical compounds into Tamil. This is going against the rest of the world. It would be comparable to using Tamil numerals.

What we are having is a rehash of a old argument - where to stop the translation - i have been in both sides of this before.. Any way for this particular case Folic acid is not the scientific name - it is just the common english name. No one here is suggesting translate linnaeus's binomial naming conventions or IUPAC names. (whatever gave you the idea "folic acid" is a "scientific name"?). "folic acid" is just an english word - nothing scientific about it. Since you people have argued in english i have compeled to talk in english. A language is born to give everything to his child. This what our mother Tamil did. You are talking that we can't change everything into tamil. But the childrens who are reading in tamil can realize ohh.. thish much depth my language has... it is an awesome yaar. Folic is a latin word originated from folium means leaves. Since they have identified I didn't refuse it. How many literatures we have searched in tamil. I started searching. I have to mention and want to bow my head infront of Mr. Ilakkuvanar Thiruvalluvan: an eminence work what he is doing. His writing in Tamil website natpu.in அன்றே சொன்னார்கள். வாழ்த்த வயதில்லை வணங்கி மகிழ்கிறேன். I am doing that work. That scientific word is just a english. You teach your children both so that they will understand the etymology of word and the gift we have obtained from our mother tamil.

(ஒரு மொழி உரையாடல்களை அம்மொழியிலேயே தொடர்வது என்பது என் தனிப்பட்ட வழக்கம் மட்டுமே. எனவே தான் 216.* உடன் ஆங்கிலத்தில் உரையாடினேன்)

தமிழில் மொழிமாற்றம் எந்த அளவு தேவை என்பது குறித்து எனக்கும் பல கருத்துகள் உள்ளன. அவை இடம் குறித்து மாறுகின்றன. ஆனால் இங்கு ஃபோலிக் ஆசிட் என்பதை “இலைக்காடி” என்று சொல்வதில் எனக்கு முழு உடன்பாடே (நீங்கள் குறிப்பிட்ட அனைத்து காரணிகளுடனும் நான் ஒத்துப் போகிறேன்)--சோடாபாட்டில்^{உரையாடுக} 06:14, 4 மார்ச் 2011 (UTC)
