When I say it with the American accent I have (granted it is somewhat of a Southern American accent so maybe it's pronounced differently in Illinois itself) it sounds more like இலினொய் than இலினாய்... the IPA symbol ɔ in /ˌɪlɨˈnɔɪ/ represents the "open-mid back rounded vowel", which sounds like this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/02/Open-mid_back_rounded_vowel.ogg. Neither இலினொய் nor இலினாய் completely accurately reflects the proper pronunciation but based on how I'm used to hearing it said I think இலினொய் is closer to the right pronunciation than இலினாய். உண்மை தான். boy என்னும் சொல்லைக் காட்டாகக் காட்டி இருந்தார்கள். அதனை வழக்கம் போல் 'பாய்' என்று படித்து விட்டேன் :-) ஐபிஏ முறையில் அது உண்மையில் '^போய்' என்பதற்கு அருகில் வரும். அதனால், இலினொய்சரியாக இருக்கலாம். இல்லை இலினோய் என்று இருக்க வேண்டுமா? --இரா.செல்வராசு 03:15, 3 ஜூன் 2008 (UTC)
